The Times Kenya

Overview

The Times Kenya needed a publishing platform that could handle a steady stream of news content while staying readable, fast and easy for editors to work with. The work focused on the structure of the platform: how stories are categorised, how readers move between sections, and how article pages are built for search and sharing.

My Role

Website development and digital platform work, including content architecture and on-page SEO setup.

The Challenge

News platforms live or die on speed and structure. The site needed clear category hierarchies, article templates that hold attention, and a publishing flow the editorial team could use daily without technical support.

Approach

1. 01

Mapped content categories and navigation around how readers actually browse news.

2. 02

Built article and category templates with clean typography and consistent metadata.

3. 03

Set up on-page SEO fundamentals: titles, descriptions, headings and internal linking.

4. 04

Prepared the publishing workflow so editors can publish without developer involvement.

Outcome

• A live publishing platform serving daily news content.
• Article and category templates that are consistent and search-friendly.
• Detailed performance data for this engagement is not published here.
